FOBTY - What's your word

Aloha!
Today's post comes from Sweet Shoppe Designs, From Our Blog To Yours:

Your Word is "Love"

You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.

Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.

And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

Ready For Red?

Okay, so anyone I talk to back on the mainland makes fun of me and teases me when they go to Target. But we will FINALLY have not one, but 2 Target stores here on the island! And I'm SUPER EXCITED! I've missed that big box store! Wal-mart and K-mart just doesn't cut it. The Target being built in Kapolei Commons is a brand spanking new shopping center. It is a bit far from us, but I want to check out the other stores. They are also putting in the FIRST Petco for Oahu as well! Check out Kapolei Commons HERE and Target HERE. When we make our annual trip to the mainland, Target is ALWAYS a MUST on our list! LOL Now, I don't have to long for that anymore! Q will be gone when they open. (He leaves March 3rd and the stores open March 8th.) Guess I have to battle the traffic myself! He's sooo much better with all that!

On another note, my surgery finally has a "confirmed" date. I'm still thinking that they will change it only because it was changed 3 times and then stalled until next month! LOL No worries, I'd gladly wait until Dr. Lucidii is there. He is the head surgeon and told me personally that he wanted to be there. He is the best at what he does, so another month, no worries. Dr. Pickenpaw was worried to keep calling and changing the dates and said she hoped I wouldn't be angry. Which I wasn't because I'm a little nervous. Even though it's an outpatient procedure, I've NEVER had any kind of surgery whatsoever. I know it's just an exploratory surgery and they are reassuring me how "simple" it is, but my nerves still get to me. Needless to say, Dr. Pickenpaw will not be doing the surgery w/ Dr. Lucidii, they are on a monthly rotation and Dr. Levy will be assisting Dr. Lucidii. I have never met Dr. Levy, but I talked to him on the phone, and will meet him a week before the procedure. He even gave me his personal line, which I thought was awesome! (You don't usually get that w/ Army hospitals. They usually give you the run around). They could've done it towards the beginning of the month, but I told them Q will be TDY and so they scheduled a time to work for us. Q will be getting back a couple days before I have it, but at least he'll be here!
Until we meet again!

Tasty Tuesdays!

Aloha! So here I am w/ a new recipe! I talked to my brother Josh to see what I should post for today's recipe. Even thought this isn't one he suggested, I thought of him when I decided which one to use. He made something similar to this when he was visiting for holiday. So here it is, Finadene (Fin-a-den-knee). Finadene (also fina dene) is a salty, spicy, sour all-purpose condiment used in Chamorro cuisine. It is comprised of soy sauce, vinegar or lemon juice, chopped white onion, and fresh chilies. Adding oil and/or water to finadene makes it suitable as an all-purpose marinade. Also a different type of finadene is lemon finadene which substitutes the soy sauce with lemon juice and thus substituting lemon juice for vinegar. This was always at the table at my mother-in-law's in Guam. They like it HOT! So needless to say, I never tried it. But Q was in heaven! ;o) Hope you enjoy!I used Tracy Reed's FlavorFULL: Seagarita which you can find HERE or in the full collection HERE.

Q's FIRST digi LO!

Aloha! How was everyone's weekend? No bad luck on Friday, the 13th I hope! We just chilled. Had Tranq's Gymboree classes and another Birthday party. But the BEST part was when Q came and had a mani/pedi with me! Now that's love! LOL He was freaking out during his pedicure because he does NOT like anyone touching his feet. And when his nail tech brought out the paraffin wax, I thought he was gonna die! LMBO! But he did it for me, I think because I guilt tripped him because he will be gone for our 5 year anniversary next month! Anyways, I have something special to show you all! Q made his very first LO! (Don't know if it'll be the last, but it turned out pretty good!) So here it is:

I've been featured! My first CT and *NEW* LOs

Aloha!
How was everyone's weekend? Ours was awesome! Saturday I took Tranquilino to his Gymboree class then right after we went to a family friend's birthday party. Well, Tranq has so much fun! I was suprised! He actually played musical chairs by himself. He said it was too hard! LOL So cute! I'll share photos when I get them uploaded. Then after the party, we took him BACK to Gymboree because they had a Parent's Night Out. They had 3 teachers to watch the kids from 5-8. It was great! I can't remember the last time Q and I had a "date night". I loved it! When it was time to pick Tranq up, he told us to go home and he was going to stay at "Gymbo". LOL He loves it there and the teachers are sooo awesome!

No, we didn't go to the Pro Bowl, but I was trying to take photos of the stadium "revamped" for the game and the tailgate area. But when we were driving by, we were too close and I had to take segmented photos. They did not turn out so great! LOL But I'm hoping they won't take stuff down tomorrow so I can try and take a couple more photos, since this is the last year the Pro Bowl will be in Hawaii. :o(

Well, I have exciting news! (For me anyways!) I have been featured as a gallery stand out at GottaPixel!!! My LO has been chosen to feature a designer's kit. You can check it out on the site's blog HERE. I will show the LO at the end of my post and you can click on it to get to my gallery. More great news, I applied for 2 designers' Creative Team (CT) and I made one of them! I was hoping I would! Connie Prince/Digi Diva is one of my FAVORITE designers! If you have a look see through my gallery, a lot of my LOs are w/ her kits. So here is a new blinkie I get to wear around the forums:
.

Soo COOL! You can check out her store at GottaPixel or Divine Digital. As promised (whether you like it or not!) LOL Here are quite a few LOs. I have been slacking and was VERY productive today. So here they are:

Just wanted to wish one of my bestest girlfriends a very Happy Birthday! *muahz* I love and miss you sooo much Bev!This is for you:

It was when Kuya came back from his first deployment to Iraq. The second photo looks like the duck's eating your lip! (Dang I got a big forhead!) Remember these:

FOBTY-SSD...pics & video!

Aloha!
I know it's been a couple days since I've last posted. Been a bit hectic over here. Well anywho, my post for today comes from SweetShoppeDesigns' blog. They are celebrating their 3rd Birthday and I've decided to join in a few contests/challenges to try and earn points and/or GC! LOL You can check out today's HERE.

So I am supposed to recall a favorite birthday memory. There's a couple, but I think the MOST memorable one has to be when Q actually celebrated my birthday and took me to my first Hawaiian Luau at Paradise Cove 2 years ago. He's not big on celebrating birthdays. He didn't even say Happy Birthday to me on my 25th birthday! Growing up, my parents always made us feel so special that it was our day. It was pretty much like a Birthday week. Receiving Birthday cards/presents from friends and relatives and what not.

So needless to say, I don't get much of a fanfare from dear ol' hubby! LOL Well, I received cards, phone calls, and even my Kuya (older brother) sent me flowers! (It was for Mother's Day/My Birthday). I came home and saw them on the kitchen table and thought Q actually did something sweet. Nope. They were from Kuya. LMBO! So I was a little hurt, but not showing it to Q or thought I didn't show him anyway. When he said to get lil man ready because he was going over to our friends' house for the evening. I was wondering, hmmm, he's not good at surprises, and I'm always snooping around if I suspect a surprise. So I thought he arranged something last minute because he saw how sad I was. So I just went along with it and kept asking him where are we going. He wouldn't tell me. I kept asking for hints and he still wouldn't tell me. I was getting very antsy and frustrated! LOL. We had only been in Oahu for a few months and he was driving to a side of the island I don't really go to, so I was COMPLETELY lost! (Nervous, because when we first moved here, we were lost for 3 hours and drove around the island!)

Come to find out, dear ol' hubs planned ahead and ordered Luau tickets to Paradise Cove. (I know he had to do this in advanced, he got military discount! And if you know me, I LOVE getting a discount!) He said I could have whatever I wanted that night. I was so touched!

My FAVORITE part was during dinner. Of course, they gave a shout out for my birthday, BUT Q got on stage and did the HULA! WOOHOO! It was a great night! He is sooooooo shy and normally he wouldn't have done it for me. He does NOT like a mass group of strangers staring at him. But he went up for me, on my birthday. *I think maybe he likes me just a little* Here's a couple BAD phone photos from the night:

Lei making a Lei! LOL (yeah yeah....corny....bleh...bleh...)

My Happy Birthday "Tattoo"
(It says Happy Birthday in Hawaiian-Hau`oli Lā Hānau)

End of the night, posing w/ the performers

Of course I've saved the BEST for last.....Q dancing the HULA! wahoo!Enjoy. Sorry for the sucky video! Peeps were walking in front of me and the other diners at my table kept bumping me! You might need some Dramamine to watch it! LOL

Until we meet again!

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!

Aloha! While I'm not an avid Football fan, we are going to watch the Superbowl. And of course, I am cooking some goodies for today. I have both my crockpots a-brewing! One has BBQ ribs and the other has Swedish Meatballs. *MMM SARAP!* It smells mighty good over here. I'll also be making some mozzarella sticks, & french fries for the boy. Maybe I'll take a snaphot and scrap it for you all later! LOL Well, I'm off to check the crocks! I'll be back later with February's desktop and a link if you'd like to snag it!

Until we meet again!
