Project 365

ALOHA!

So have you all heard the BUZZ about Project 365? I must admit I jumped on the band wagon & I'm glad I did. Taking a photo a day will help remember the year gone by. I'm hoping to scrap it week by week. I know I haven't posted ANY yet, so I have to play catch up. Here are 3 LOs for January 1-21. TFL! {Thanks for Looking!}

Play With Your Pixels

Wow, has it really been over a month since I've last been on here? The holidays were pretty busy! Josh was out here and I loved having family around for the holidays. It's been a long time since I've had that. So it was a nice treat. Okay wow, so I know I promised LOs and photos, so I gotta play catch up.

First of all, Q is gone again.:o( This is his 2nd TDY to Korea. And it won't be the last. He left a couple days after Josh went back home to Nebraska. He will be back on the 26th though. YAY! He called tonight and said he's going to try to catch a flight for Friday, but I won' t hold my breath. LOL

So have you checked out the Creative Team Call @ GP? This is the 3rd week, but you can participate anytime! You get a free kit to play with to make a LO per the criteria.

Week #1 Challenge

Recently I teamed up with Robin Blankenship (also known as Mad Scrapper Designs) to create a "Tea Party" kit. We've seen a lot of layouts created with the kit that showcase tea parties and princesses, and they all look incredible!

Your challenge is to use this kit, but to use it in a manner that is not typical. Use the kit to showcase something a boy has done, or a trip to the zoo, or showcasing the power tool your husband received for Christmas. The purpose of this challenge is to see how you can take a kit, that would not normally fit your family structure, and use it to your advantage.

Week #2 Challenge

We always love to know about our members! We like hear about their lives, who they are and what they like. For this challenge we want to know about you, but with a twist.

Your challenge is to use Liz Hutchinson's "Cozy Kind of Love" Kit to create a layout about yourself. The layout has to include a picture of you, but it can not be any body part that is on your head, or your head itself. It can be your feet, toes, elbows, neck or any other body party in between, but if it's your head, or on your head, it can not be included. You can include additional pictures (as long as those don't include your head either). You must include journaling that answers the following 4 questions

1. I love to scrapbook because...
2. The quirkest thing about me is...
3. My friends say that I am...
4. When I grow up, I want to...

Week #3 Challenge

Sometimes less is more. Using Sarah Meyer's "Snuggle Up" Page Kit, we want you to show us how you can showcase the kit by using it in the most effective and dramatic way while still having a high degree of white space. It doesn't matter how many images you use, or how many elements you use. You can journal if you want, but you don't have to. You do have to have at least 80-90% white space on your canvas though.

There is one more week left and it starts on Monday. I'll post once it's up!

Santa's List, & Q goes TDY

Aloha everyone!

Well, looks like the Christmas season is in full swing! We've got our Christmas tree up and trimmed, our Holiday decorations are out and we even got a little holiday shopping done! Did anyone go Black Friday shopping? We weren't going to go, but Kevin said he wanted to, so off we went! It was actually not bad! Of course there was a LONG line outside of ToysRUs. But they were super organized and everything ran smoothly and quickly. Our Black Friday experience here was WAY better than in El Paso, TX. EVERYONE out there was pushing and shoving and trying to grab things from you. It was INSANE! But here, people of course were in a hurry, but didn't try to run you over with their carts or shove you out of the way or pull things from your hands. I actually enjoyed it! Glad the ALOHA spirit was apparent during the holiday frenzy!

Speaking of Christmas, I thought I'd share a link to show you that Tranq made Santa's list. You can check it out here. This is so cute & I couldn't pass it up to share with you all!

As you all know, this is Kev's first of 3 TDY's to Korea. This one is only for a little over a week. He will be gone for 2 1/2 weeks in January, and then for almost a month end of February/beginning of March. Which by the way he will be gone for our 5 year anniversary. *sighs* But what can I do right? That's the job of an Army wife! So I take it with a grain of salt and try to smile. Anywho.....I was going to post some LOs, but I'm having problems with GottaPixel and can't show you yet. So hopefully I'll get some to you all soon and maybe some photos when Josh comes to visit. Did I forget to mention that? Yes Josh will be coming in for the Holidays. He gets here a couple days after Kevin comes back and leaves a couple days before Kevin leaves again. LOL Okay, until next time! ALOHA!

Happy Anniversary and some new LOs

Aloha everyone! Well, first and foremost, I'd like to wish my parents a HAPPY 33rd ANNIVERSARY! So Nay & Dad, this is for you:

With that being said, I've made some more LOs and the first one I'd like to share is of M&D. I created this LO for the Quote This Challenge at GottaPixel. The quote was: "Getting Old Ain't For Sissies! ~Bette Davis~" And this is what I came up with. I believe the then photo is from 1977 and the now photo is from 2008.
